Just as his close partner Kardinal, Lowkey
has become one of the rising figure of French
techno music thanks to a handful of impressive
maxi. After maintaining a high successful residency
in the mythic Dijon club "L'Anfer",
succeding Tonio and Laurent Garnier, Lowkey
has been keping the pace. His rave inspired
style, offering a wide range mixture of electro,
techno and breakbeat sounds, has been working
club goers up into a frenzy. After numerous
signature on different labels he co-founded
"Goog records" in 2005. The label
gains more and more public support, particularly
with the released and mind blowing sedma ep,
which he produced in collaboration with Kardinal
and Scan x. The extremely popular Dafresh also
signed on the next maxi.
The boss of the Goog records label, Alex L
aka LowKey, celebrated his tenth year behind
the turntables in June 2006 and also released
at this time the Goog 3 album. This gives you
an idea of his career path on the French electronic
music scene
LowKey first emerged on the electronic music
scene in Burgundy at La Demignière, one
of the pioneer underground clubs in the area.
Here he became the resident DJ of the techno
nights. Inspired by many of the big guns of
the French electronic scene he became one of
the most influential players on the emerging
Burgundy scene. The other important factor was
the, now defunct, L’Anfer club. LowKeys
flawless techniques and remarkable selection
turned each of his dance floor techno sets into
a new experience for a demanding public. He
naturally succeeded the two previous DJs, Tonio
and Laurent Garnier, and became the last resident
of LAnfer in 2001. Memories of his six hours
sets have inevitably lasted.
LowKey’s ongoing wish to promote techno
culture in the area led him to create his own
label, Freaksion. The record shop he co-founded
with his close friend Freud bore the same name
as the label. At the same time he was organising
and playing gigs in clubs like L’Espace
Grevin, Le Riva and L’Embuscade.
Former musician, LowKey has proved to be an
eclectic artist. He demonstrates his command
on every electronic spectrum: techno, electro,
break and drum’n bass- the latest being
less and less performed. For each style he has
the power to drive you into his deep emotional
techno soul.
Producer as well, LowKey signed to labels like
Gazole (UWE sub-division) or Tekabloc while
various collaborations with big names like Popof
or Noisebuilder (The Heretiks) took him a step
further. Along with Kardinal they co-founded
the Goog label in 2005. The first EP Dancefloor
in the Heaven has been highly acclaimed. The
track was remixed by Al Ferox and playlisted
by numerous artists. The released Goog 3 includes
a track produced by LowKey and a remix of a
Kardinal track by Scan X.
Last June looked to be a busy month with LowKey
signing onto the label of the prominent Djedi
aka Electric Rescue with a remix by the Spanish
Leandro Gamez (Fiebar rec.) and a tour. The
tour included La Reunion and Mexico. After this
you were able to catch him playing throughout
France delivering mind blowing mixes.
Our determined man has asserted himself on every
playground. His dance floor techno sets have
the crowds entranced in his hypnotic beats as
they hit in just the right place at the right
time. His mellow and more melodic electro sets
